The PIBG complements the school’s management by providing a forum through which parents can get involved in their children’s education through its various bureaux. It also helps to raise funds to meet the shortfall in the school’s operating budget. Some of the key PIBG initiatives and projects have included:

• Complementary education programmes - “Save the Wildlife” Campaign, Science & Agama workshops, Futurekids Computer Club
• Sports clinics
• Infrastructure projects - maintenance of the Dewan, upgrading of the padang and refurbishment of toilets
• Purchase of equipment for sports, school’s PA system, library and science laboratories
• Employment of a “lollipop man” to assist children crossing
• Dialogue sessions between parents and teachers
• Monthly Newsletter and school website
• Funding for events such as Hari Anugerah Cemerlang, Karnival Sukan and Hari
• Mini Konvo for Standard 6 students
• Major fund raising activities – Hari Keluarga and Walkathon events.

Reports of all PIBG’s annual fund-raising accounts and activities are tabled at the Annual General Meeting which is usually held in March/April of each year. The interests of all PIBG members are served by a committee of parents and teachers (Ahli Jawatankuasa, AJK) who are elected at the AGM.

There are presently eight bureaux within PIBG.

Active participation DOES make a difference. Parents are encouraged to volunteer their efforts through the PIBG. Together we can make things better for all at SKBD!
